Accommodations

All accommodation is included as per individual itinerary. The variety of our accommodations in Mongolia represents the wide breadth of cultures we encounter from luxurious international hotels, 3 star hotels, private apartments to ger camps and tents. Most Visit Mongolia tours are based on 4 or 4+ star accommodations in Ulaanbaatar and the best available ger camps in the countryside. We always look for conveniently located, comfortable, clean and friendly places, locally run with plenty of local character.

Hotels:
In Ulaanbaatar, you will stay in carefully selected and well maintained hotels. Rooms of deluxe, semi-deluxe, first-class and standard categories are available. Hotels in Ulaanbaatar graded as 3, 4 and 4+ stars are generally comfortable and offer in-room international standard bathroom facilities, TV with access to international channels, telephones with IDD and room service.

There are several hotels in the countryside that are mostly designed for domestic rather than international tourists. For our tours, we have chosen hotels primarily for their location and facilities available. We will endeavor to supply any extra information that you may require on these hotels. The hotels listed in the tour itineraries may occasionally be unavailable for the required dates. In this event, we will advise you of alternative hotels which will, where possible, be of the same or a higher standard than those featured in the itineraries. Most tours are based on twin share rooms.

If you would like to stay in any hotels other than those featured in our tour itinerary, or if you would like to upgrade the standard of your room, this can easily be arranged and you will be informed of the difference in price.

Check-in and Check-Out Times: For all group and individual tours, hotel check-in/out time is normally 12 noon, but does vary between hotels. Early check-ins and late check-outs cannot be pre-booked without extra payment.

Listed below are almost all the hotels in Ulaanbaatar featured in our tours.
Ger camps:

While touring in countryside, the most common accommodations outside cities on our expeditions are called ger camps. For our tours, we have chosen tourist ger camps primarily for their location and facilities available at the areas.

A ger is the traditional felt tent of nomadic herders. Accommodation in the ger camps is based on two people sharing one ger. Each ger is heated by a wood stove and has two wood-framed beds. The camp restaurant and western-style toilet and shower facilities are located in the middle of the camp or close by. All camps supply towels. The ger camps provide all bedding and clients will not be expected to bring their own sleeping bags if they stay overnight in the ger camps. Staying in a ger is a memorable experience of Mongolian culture.
Tented camping:

On many of our more active trips, we use tent camps. We provide either 2- or 3-person tents. A sleeping mat will be provided to each person staying in a tent, but clients are asked to bring their own sleeping bags. Our expedition staffs will set up and take down the camp, cook all meals and take care of all camp chores. Tent camps allow you to interact more with the nature and visit the remotest areas of the country.
